The Anna Middle School expansion plans are progressing. The architect presented a plan for this
project at the November School Board Meeting. The architect previously met with
district administration, campus teachers, and the AISD Strategic Planning
Committee to develop a preliminary floor plan. Based on the input from these
groups, the Anna ISD Board of Trustees reviewed and approved the architect’s proposed
plans.
This January, the district will move forward with this
project by selling the 2005 voter-approved bonds. Upon completion of the bond
sale, construction will begin in February. The AMS expansion will add 21
classrooms. The band and theatre arts classrooms will increase to meet the
demands of the number of students participating in the program. We will also
increase the capacity of the cafeteria. In addition, the district will review
the need to replace roofing and air conditioning systems. The finalized plans
will be displayed in the main entrance of Anna Middle School and placed on our
website, wwwannisd.org.
